I'm a professional pianist based in Barnet.

Over 20 years in schools with very highly-regarded music departments (Purcell School, Latymer, Bedales, Queen Elizabeth's, St Marylebones and York Minster)

I teach Classical Piano, Jazz Piano and Music Technology/synth programming.

I have an MA in Music Technology (York) and BA Hons Music (York)

I teach at my home and online with Skype using 2 cameras

I have DBS and have to pass a Safeguarding Certificate for QE Boys every year.

My current rate is £40 ph.
Classical piano

Learn to play from sheet music and to understand the music and how to play stylistically whilst expressing yourself in your performance.

Develop a good technique with use of arm-weight to produce a richer tone and wrist and arm movements to aid agility speed and relaxation.

I can prepare you for ABRSM grade exams. My pupils get good grades - distinctions at grades 6, 7, 8.
Jazz piano

Learn to 'pick out' tunes and famous solos by ear and understand why the notes sound good in context.

I teach jazz functional harmony so you can hit notes that you like and play those juicy sounding chords that you hear famous jazz pianists play.

Clarinet

I learned Clarinet at York Uni and played in the Uni Orchestras and some pro gigs.

Back in London I was 2nd clarinet in Saloman and Haydn Orchestras for many years often doing concerts at St. John's Smith's Square.

I taught Clarinet at Latymer and Queen Elizabeths Boys School for 20 years.

I teach classical (including all grades) and jazz clarinet.
